“What is paradise, but, a garden, an orchard of trees and herbs, full of please and nothing there but delights” – William Lawson. What makes the WDMC Community Garden so delightful? I can only think of two reasons. The Garden grow boxes and the new orchard.

Garden grow boxes are available for adoption by local community members, organizations, and groups. There is no charge to adopt boxes! WDMC provides the water supply, regular irrigation, seedling plants and the tools you need to harvest on the WDMC campus. We just need you to prepare, plant, weed and tend the grow boxes each season. Also harvest your produce as it matures.

February 2023, Grow North Texas, the Giving Grove and Boy Scouts Troop 470 (West Dallas Community Church) planted trees on the WDMC campus. We officially have an orchard, now let cultivation of pears, peaches, figs, and blackberries begin.

If you would like a Garden grow box or interested in becoming an Orchard volunteer, please email Ashley.hutto@dallas.gov.
